A man hit a Glendale homeowner with a hammer while attempting to steal a handgun, according to police.
The incident occurred Monday at about 8:40 a.m. in the 4500 block of West North Lane, near Peoria and 43rd avenues.
According to police, two male suspects entered the home occupied by a man and a woman. One of the burglars hit the male homeowner with a hammer, according to police. It was reported the homeowner was in his bed when the attack happened. One of the suspects, whom the homeowner told police he knew, demanded the male victims’ handgun.
The suspects fled without the gun. The homeowner provided the name of his acquaintance to police, but it will not be released due to the on-going investigation.
The suspects are a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 200 pounds and a white male last seen wearing a white hat, brown hoodie, and jeans.
