Two men died Thursday evening after a motorcyclist hit a pedestrian in Glendale, according to a police release.
On March 16, at about 6:15 p.m., the Glendale Police Department responded to a traffic collision near 5900 West Berridge Lane. Officers determined two people were involved.
Officials treated them at the scene but eventually transported them to a local Valley hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were pronounced dead later in the night.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Dustin Scherr, 20, and the pedestrian as Glendale resident Philip Wilson, 52.
The Glendale Police Vehicular Crimes Detectives determined Scherr was traveling northbound on 59th Avenue from West Bethany Home Road and struck Wilson, who was crossing eastbound on 59th Avenue at Berridge Lane.
Police believe speeding is a contributing factor to the crash. They are determining if impairment is also.
Police advise drivers to watch their speeds and slow down as it could save a life.
