A mobile home caught fire in Peoria early Monday morning, according to a fire spokesperson.
At about 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 6, the Peoria Fire-Medical Department responded to a mobile home fire near the intersection of 91st and Grand avenues in the Polynesian Village Mobile Home community.
On arrival, officials found a single-wide mobile home partially engulfed in flames.
Crews evacuated nearby homes and attempted to extinguish the flames, the spokesperson stated. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent homes.
According to officials, early indications reveal the fire started near the rear of the home, likely in an attached shed, and spread to the home.
The home sustained heavy damaged, and officials are calling it a total loss.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The homeowners were not present while firefighters were at the scene.
Officials contacted the homeowners, and they are working with fire investigators, who are still determining the cause of the fire.
