El Mirage fire engineer Joe Fusco, a 12-year veteran, was promoted to captain at the El Mirage Fire Station earlier this week.
Fusco was selected following a lengthy process to test candidates’ knowledge of fire skills, as well as their ability to manage a first-alarm structure fire and first-alarm medical assignment.
Attending Fusco’s badge-pinning ceremony were Vice Mayor David Shapera, Fire Chief Howard Munding, Police Chief Steve Campbell, and Fusco’s father, Mike, who is a retired fire chief from the Peoria Fire Department.
