Letter to the editor: History says Trump’s wall will work

Although some still may say that protective walls don’t work, this can be easily disproven by observing Israel’s recently built wall that very successfully keeps undesirables and hostiles out of their country.
As another example of this, long before the Israeli’s wall came into existence, the Chinese started building what came to be known as “The Great Wall Of China,” before the time of Christ. It was not completed however until somewhere during the Ming Dynasty … between 1367 and 1644. Fact: Although some still say that walls of this sort are archaic and ineffective, they do fill their purpose. I say this because after all of this time (some 2,000-plus years), China still exists as a country. If their wall hadn’t been built, who knows what that region might look like today? In fact, it very well might have changed how the whole world looks today. Comparatively speaking, Israel’s wall hasn’t been in existence all that long, but so far it, too, is doing its job … keeping undesirables out of that country. Then, if built properly, will Trump’s wall also work? You can bet that it will, contrary to what the naysayers might think or say.
