Letter to the editor: Let’s give president a chance

Let’s give
president
a chance
After reading the letter to the editor from Jim Kepler in the May 6 edition of the Daily News-Sun it seems to me he’s not a fan of Donald Trump. He complains about Trump not showing his tax return. There is no law on the books that states a president must release his returns.
As far as the wall on the border we can pay for it using the money that we give to Mexico in foreign aid to pay for the wall.
We have a new conservative Supreme Court judge which Trump promised. The reason Obama’s nominee wasn’t approved is called the Biden rule that was put in place in the last year Bush was president. The Democrats would refuse to take up a nomination of a judge in the last year of a Republican president’s term.
As far as golfing goes Obama played 333 rounds of golf in his eight years and all his trips cost the taxpayers over $96 million.
Speaking of Obama, he promised immigration reform and close GTMO, both of which never happened. What we got was a $1 billion stimulus bill to bail out his union buddies in the auto industry and a promise of “shovel ready jobs” that didn’t happen. We also got the disaster that is Obamacare.
Trump’s only been if office a little over 100 days. I say let’s give him some time. One thing I do like is the fact that he’s not taking a salary as president, saving the taxpayers $400,000 a year.
