Glendale Police Department Foothills Station Officers of the Month

Officer James Calderon.
Officer Stetson Jackson.

Officer James Calderon and Officer Stetson Jackson were January Employees of the Month. On January 13 both officers responded as a training unit to a report of a burglary from a residence in the Arrowhead Lakes area. When they arrived they made contact with a contractor who was renovating a home. They were advised of numerous high priced items that had been removed from the home which they were using to renovate the home this included fixtures and tools. Also taken from the home were items belonging to the home owner, who was not present at the time.

During the investigation they were provided information about two male subjects, one of which entered the home the day prior while the victim was there, attempting to ask the victim about drywall advice. The victim and the suspect got into a verbal conflict at which time the victim told the suspect to leave. Both suspects got into a vehicle and left.

Officer Calderon and Officer Jackson were able to obtain information that the suspect, who had entered the home, was the grandson of the home owner a few doors down from the burglary location. After conducting their investigation at the victim’s location both officers went to the grandfather’s home and interviewed him. It was at this location they were able to identify and get the suspect’s name.

With that information Officer Calderon and Officer Jackson conducted a wants and warrants check and found out the suspect was on probation. They called his probation officer and obtained a valid address for the suspect from his probation officer. The probation officer responded to that location and began surveillance on the suspect and during this was in contact with Officer Calderon advising him that the suspect and another subject had arrived at the home, in Phoenix, and were removing property from the vehicle and taking it inside the home.

It was at this time that several units responded to the home and during the response numerous people were found inside. The suspect however was able to escape out the back. Upon clearing the home, several items belonging to our victims were located inside along with approximately five people. One of those subjects was found to have a felony warrant while another was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of another city.

After the home was secured, the FIT team was called and responded. The FIT team was able to identify and clear out approximately six Glendale burglaries and at least one Phoenix and were able to return property back to the victims. The suspect was later tracked and apprehended by the Foothills NRS squad.

It is because of Officer Calderon and Jackson they ended up with several arrests to include the suspect, who was also charged as a repeat offender by detectives that several cases were cleared out and victims got their property back.
