P.J. Bartos, along with his sisters and their friends, hosted his 9th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Feb. 17 at Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia, 30383 N. 131st Drive. The children raised over $3,000 in-person and from online donations. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Peoria provided lunch for all the kids and volunteers. Rita’s Italian Ice from Glendale served delicious cold Alex’s Lemonade flavored water ice.

They raised most of their money by raffling off prizes that were donated by Fry’s Marketplace, The Haymaker, Pizzeria Bianco, Wilhelm Automotive, TopGolf in Gilbert, the Diamondbacks and others.

Gerry and Kathy Eager attended the event for the 9th straight year, never missing a chance to come out to support the kids who are raising money to find cures for pediatric cancer, including the cancer that took the life of the Mr. Eager’s own grandson years ago.
