Evening presentations are at 7 p.m. on March 6, 7 and 9. All the shows will be in the Sunflower Ballroom, 16501 N. El Mirage Road.
The comedy “Sex Please, We’re Sixty,” has been a delight for local senior audiences. It was last performed in early December by the Drama and Comedy Club in Sun City Grand. The packed audiences loved this senior moments tale.
The story takes place in a scenic New England bed and breakfast.
The owner, Mrs. Stancliffe, caters mostly to the “over 60” crowd and strictly women.
She herself is being courted by a close neighbor and gentleman, Henry Mitchell. He is a daily visitor who is a retired chemist as well as the inventor of a miracle pill for older women. The pill is named Venusia after the goddess of love. It supposedly increases the libido in menopausal women. It, however, is untested and definitely not FDA approved.
Another neighbor is Bud Davis, who checks out the crop of arriving women on a daily basis. He is brazen in manner and chauvinistic. His approach is definitely not what Mrs. Stancliffe feels is “prim and proper.”
On this particular day, three female guests arrive. One is a noted, romance novelist. Another is a wealthy Southern belle. And lastly, there is an articulate, sophisticated, former associate of chemist Henry. She had agreed to help Henry test the new pill.
As you might expect, things don’t go as planned. The new blue pill, Venusia, gets mixed up with Bud Davis’ daily supply of Viagra. The side effects are daunting. And the serene aptmosphere around the resort is definitely disrupted.
